Our Projects.

The Organic Greenhouses

At a later stage, when Blue Fish Farm will be active, we intend to start a new project for a 5 Ha. organic greenhouse which will be located in the immediate proximity of BFF.

This project will be a state-of-the-art organic greenhouse which will produce fresh vegetables and salads and will include a nursery for seedlings.

The rationale and business viability of this project relies on the fact that the organic greenhouse project will use solar energy produced by BFF and, even more crucially, will use for fertilization waste produced by BFF, thus resolving one of the acutest ecological problem a fish farm has – waste management.

We strongly believe in the synergy created by combining these two projects and the positive environmental impact it will have. By using the waste that BFF inevitably produces as fertilizer in the greenhouse project, we have neutralized a potential ecological problem and turned it into a useful and valuable material that can be re-used.

The Orchards

We are in the process of acquiring a 450 Dekar’s fruit orchard (the “Orchard”). The Orchard is located near the town of Stamboliiski (Plovdiv Region) and includes about 110 Dekars of Cherries, 40 Dekars of Plums and 50 Dekars of Apples.

Most trees have been planted 10-15 years ago. It has self-owned water sources, electricity, drip irrigation system, fence around the Orchard and some equipment and building.

We have prepared a plan for the rehabilitation and re-planting of the Orchard with additional new trees in the unused space.

Improving/adding irrigation systems

We continuously invest in irrigation systems. We intend to continue and increase the irrigated land we cultivate with 300-500 dekars yearly, primarily with drip irrigation.

This will allow us to diversify and cultivate vegetables. In the next 3 years we intend to grow Sweet Potato, Tomatoes, Garlic and Pepper, in addition to increase in Maize cultivation with drip irrigation.

Modernization of our base of operation in the town of Septemvri

The plan includes renovation and modernization of existing buildings, weighing station and additional mechanization which facilitates the storage of grain.

If possible, we will try to include this renovation in an EU program such as LEADER.
